What do I want to spend my time on?
In the coming years, you will have more free time. It is a good idea to think about what you want to do, what you enjoy doing and what matters to you. What will enable you to enjoy your retirement? Think about this well before retirement suddenly arrives.
- Be aware of what you as a senior at the workplace want to do next. Take action yourself and do not wait for your boss to do it for you. The last fifteen years at work can be the best.
- There are many ways into retirement. For many, a gradual reduction of working hours may be a good idea. Check out opportunities at your workplace to phase out working life and ease into retirement.
- Make a plan for the new phase of your life. Think about what you want to spend your time on when you retire. Keep learning, give to others, and get a hobby before it is too late.
- Take control and management of your own life. Be aware of which commitments you take on, but remember that commitments can also contribute to the structure and content of everyday life.
